This week in Congress, the House of Representatives passed the highly anticipated $78 billion tax package by a bipartisan vote of 357-70. The legislation now proceeds to the Senate, where there are some Republican concerns surrounding the Child Tax Credit provisions and other measures, but there remains significant support for getting the bill across the finish line.
At the committee level, the Senate Judiciary Committee convened a hearing focused on the impact of harmful content reaching children on social media. Separately, the House Homeland Security Committee voted to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas by a vote of 18-15.
