The Republican Tax Package

The House Ways and Means Committee is set to advance a trio of three bills - the Tax Cuts for Working Families Act (H.R. 3936), the Small Business Jobs Act (H.R. 3937), and the Build It in America Act (H.R. 3938) - as a consolidated, tax-focused legislative package. The package is intended to extend expiring provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, as well as enacting several new tax changes (most of which are temporary). This activity has immediately received criticism from Democrats, and is therefore unlikely to move forward in the Democratic-controlled House.
